Swain Association

The Swain Association - our school's parent-teacher organization - is comprised of current Swain parents, teachers and staff, working together for the benefit of the students and the school. All families of Swain students and faculty/staff are automatically members of the Swain Association - there are no dues or fees for membership.

The purpose of the Swain Association is to foster a sense of community within The Swain School and to promote interaction between parents and teachers at the school.Volunteer involvement is a key element in those efforts, with the Swain Association coordinating many events and fund raising activities throughout the year. The proceeds are donated to the school at the end of the year.

Goals for 2011-2012

  • to achieve 100% family involvement - every family will be involved in some aspect of the school's life
  • to offer both morning and evening meeting times to increase parent attendance
  • to organize the second "LAPS for Library & Science" fund raising event - held Friday, October 21
  • to create a campus beautification committee
  • to support professional development for teachers
