Academics

At Swain, we strongly believe that children learn best when they are engaged with the community. Close relationships with teachers, field trips across the grades, experiential learning in our organic garden, and regular school gatherings all contribute to an inspiring curriculum. From our youngest students to our eighth graders, Swain students are encouraged to ask questions and participate in open discussion. The world is constantly evolving, so the goal of our program is to shape leaders who can positively contribute in a global society.

Our academic program is grounded in research and based on best practice in independent schools. Swain faculty regularly attend national conferences and workshops in order to design and implement engaging, age-appropriate curriculum. We cherish this great opportunity to empower children; there is no greater challenge than collaborating with students to help them explore knowledge and find passion.
