Technology
In this age of technology, success is often a measure of students' abilities to master the technological tools at their disposal. The technology curriculum at Swain, which begins in Kindergarten, stresses the skill sets that we believe will be needed in the future.
The ability to type quickly on a keyboard is one such skill set. Others include word processing, spreadsheets, research via the internet and manipulating graphics. As students progress through the grades, they become more proficient at using technology to write theme papers, compositions, and research papers as well as to create multimedia presentations. In addition, students are encouraged to incorporate technology through cross-curricular projects involving film, photography, and computer art.
