Need-Based Tuition Assistance/ Financial Aid
The Swain School strives to reflect the true diversity of the larger world in which we live, maintaining a diverse student body that represents various cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
We also believe that any student who is offered admission should have the opportunity to be part of our community and take advantage of all that Swain has to offer. In 2010-2011, 25 percent of our students received a financial aid grant. These grants range from $1500 to upwards of 95 percent of the tuition.
Financial Aid is awarded based on three factors:
- Demonstrated need as determined by guidelines provided by the school and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS) - see below
- Consideration of specific family situations or emergencies
- The availability of funds approved by The Swain School Board of Trustees
These awards are based upon financial need, which does not have to be repaid by the family. Each family is required to complete the necessary documentation required by the school on a yearly basis.
For newly-enrolled students entering grades 5-8 in the fall of 2012, up to five scholarships are available through the program. Students must demonstrate academic excellence and/or financial need.
