Holiday House Tour Newsletter - Nov. 20 edition One of the most beloved traditions at Swain is the Holiday House Tour, sponsored and managed by Swain parents. The 40th annual tour, scheduled for December 8 and 9, 2009, will offer the general public a chance to peek inside a handful of the Lehigh Valley's most beautiful homes, many of them fully decorated for the holidays. The "Snowflake Express" - a nighttime tour held on Tuesday, December 8 - includes a light supper with bus transportation to each Holiday House. Day trippers will take a self-guided tour on Wednesday, December 9, which includes a gourmet luncheon served by formally-attired eighth grade students. Many visitors enjoy our Swain Holiday Boutique, featuring vendors of high quality and imaginative gifts, and a Bake Sale with delectable treats. A Chinese Auction with a great variety of prizes is also offered. This year's event will be in a new venue: The McCann Center, beautifully decorated for the season. The Swain Association sponsors many events throughout the school year. Some are fund raisers, many are just for fun, and some are for the benefit of students, teachers and the school itself. The Welcome Coffees on the first two days of school, the Family Picnic, flower sales, gift wrap sale, and All-School Student Picnic in the spring are just a few of the activities sponsored by The Swain Association. Check for dates on the school calendar. The money raised by this energetic group has benefited Swain in many ways. Funds raised by the Swain Association have been used to purchase academic resources and support professional development.
