Thanks for supporting this great event!
Each May, Swain friends and family convene for two elegant events in support of the school: The Dinner and Auction, and the Annual Swain Golf Tournament.
The 16th Annual Swain Dinner and Auction Gala was held May 17 at the Lehigh Country Club. Adults dined on fine food, visited with friends, and vied for hundreds of different items at the auction. It was a great evening with an even greater purpose - raising money for the advancement of The Swain School and its students!
Each year a band of dedicated volunteers target an ambitious goal like new playing fields for sports, networked media centers with Internet access in every classroom, a new library center - something that will directly enhance the experiences of Swain students. This year's goal is to support Swain's students and teachers.
Months of teamwork and organization created a sense of mounting excitement throughout the Swain community. Auction donations included valuable items such as vacations, jewelry, fine wines, luxury merchandise and priceless classroom projects made by the students themselves. Teachers contributed "Teachers' Treasures" - outings or one-on-one sessions with students, or an opportunity to work with that teacher for a day.
Golfing — for Fun!
For those who love golf , the chance to steal away for a Monday in May with friends, family or colleagues is hard to resist. Golfers' abilities range from scratch to maximum handicaps, and individuals who want to play can be placed with a foursome or designate their own group.
Fine food, great golf, prizes, and the opportunity to network, drew friends and business leaders from far and wide to this annual event, held on May 19, 2008. Funds raised from the tournament were combined with those of the Auction to support teacher salaries and student scholarships.
