Opportunities for Giving

At Swain, philanthropy and volunteerism are crucial elements in providing the excellent educational experience we offer each student. Annual tuition covers only about 85 percent of the costs of our program, which emphasizes superior faculty, individual attention, small classes, enriched curriculum and character education.

During the 2007-2008 school year, our fund raising
efforts will be directed to building contributions to our Annual Fund.

Business Tax Credits for Scholarships

Along with contributions to the Annual Fund, events like the Auction and Golf Tournament support scholarships, enrichment and special projects. Businesses and foundations provide grants for projects such as community outreach and professional development.

Endowment contributions are often planned gifts like bequests, insurance policies and trusts, which provide perpetual ongoing support for scholarships, teachers, and special programs like athletics, art, music and drama.

Gifts-In-Kind are tangible items or professional services which are donated to enhance the academic or enrichment program at Swain.

Online or retail shopping at stores which rebate funds to Swain benefits the school, and partners commercial enterprises with us to support our mission.

Swain's parent/teacher organization, The Swain Association, is another key element of our ongoing fund raising and volunteer efforts. Most recently, the group's efforts resulted in the building of an additional playground on our beautiful campus.

The Swain School is a not-for-profit school as defined by IRS Code 501(c)(3); contributions qualify as charitable deductions for tax purposes.
