Cultural ambassadors arrive from Guatemala
Eight middle school students are far from their homes and families in Guatemala, having arrived at Swain earlier this week for a two-month stay as cultural ambassadors.
Cami, Gaby, Sebas, Angelo, Juanfer, Marreh, Sofi and Juancho have started settling into their new routines as Swain students - and American tweens. While here, they are residing with Swain host families and enjoying the sights, sounds, experiences and foods of their new country. (The new friends gather for a casual photo, right)
The students are part of the Faces cultural exchange program, and each is well-prepared for his or her role as cultural ambassador. Part of their mission is to better acquaint the Swain community with their country and its heritage and culture.
We appreciate them giving up their school vacation to come to the Lehigh Valley!
