Swain Middle School actors present one-act comedy

Under the direction of Robert J Wagner, Swain's Director of play_logoTheatre Arts, ten middle school students presented Moliere's Two Precious Maidens: Ridiculed on Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

"We are beginning a new tradition at Swain by offering a fall drama production," said Wagner, now in his fourth year on Swain's staff. "Building on the interest and enthusiasm our students have shown for the spring musical, this was a next step to build our program. With this production, we gave more students an opportunity to be a part of the dramatic experience."

Wagner continued, "Not only did the students appear onstage, but they were extremely involved in rewriting the show for a more modern audience, and another dozen students were actively involved in backstage work such as costuming, scenery work, movement, props and box office assistance."
