Mandarin Language Comes to Swain
Recently, seventh graders at Swain started a six-week unit on Mandarin Chinese. An aspect of our Global Education program, the course is designed to expose students to the most widely-spoken language in the world.
Taught by Ms. Bei Wang, the course gives students basic conversational skills along with learning how to create basic Chinese symbols. This exploratory course comes on the heels of a smaller, similar unit presented this past winter in the fifth grade, as part of their studies on China.
Hao rizi (good day)!
