The Swain School was the site of the first-ever "Paloozival!" (pa-LOO-zuh-vuhl) on Saturday afternoon, June 18.
Paloozival featured five children's book authors/illustrators including our friend Eric Wight – author of the exciting Frankie Pickle book series – as well as Brian Biggs (illustrator of Roscoe Riley and Brownie & Pearl books), Amy Ignatow (The Popularity Papers), David Lubar (Red Hot Pepper Weenies) and Matt Phelan (The Storm in the Barn, illustrator of Flora's Very Windy Day and more).
Funny name? Fun event! The authors/illustrators talked about how they work, got ideas from the audience to create an original piece of art, inspired everyone to read, gave autographs, and generally had a great time celebrating reading and storytelling. With a little ukele music thrown in for fun!
The event benefited the Lower Macungie Library, and included a book store and a bake sale.
See the photos! Read about it on Salisbury Patch!
