Scholarships available for newly-enrolled 5th-8th graders
The Swain School has up to five Middle School Scholarships available for students who are newly-enrolled in the fall of 2012 as fifth - eighth graders.
Up to five Middle School scholarships will be awarded:
- up to three scholarships that will cover 75 percent of annual tuition, based on the family's financial need and the student's academic excellence
(Families may be considered for additional tuition assistance, above and beyond The Swain Middle School Scholarship, based on their demonstrated need.)
- one or two scholarships that will cover 50 percent of annual tuition, based on the student's academic excellence
"Swain's meets the needs of this unique age group by providing a rich curriculum, engaged teachers, and a safe, nurturing environment," said Kyle Armstrong, Associate Head for Academics. "We strive to inspire creativity and imagination, and our whole-child approach fosters a sense of leadership and responsibility."
Building on the opportunities that small classes and dedicated faculty bring to the students, the school provides - in addition to above grade-level - state-of-the-art , programming in the , , and (taught by specialists in dedicated classrooms), and a full schedule of . and leadership opportunities are also incorporated into the curriculum.
Swain's faculty are actively engaged in assisting each student's family in the decision, to ensure that each child chooses an educational setting best suited to his or her needs.
