School Bus Transportation for K-8 Bethlehem Students
Families in the Bethlehem area can take advantage of school bus transportation to The Swain School for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. For parents who prefer to drive, Hanover Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive provide easy access to The Swain School.
How The Swain School Nurtures Leaders
Children at The Swain School develop a strong sense of character and leadership skills through an emphasis on cooperation, taking on responsibilities, and learning how to resolve conflicts. Older students also have the chance to act as learning buddies with younger students, lead and serve on various committees, and plan school-wide events.
Graduates leave The Swain School confident and fully prepared for high school and the years ahead. In recent years, Swain graduates have enrolled in many excellent secondary schools. These schools include Blair Academy, Choate Rosemary Hall, Deerfield Academy, The Hill School, Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts, The Lawrenceville School, Linden Hall School, Mercersburg Academy, Moravian Academy, The Perkiomen School, Phillips Exeter Academy, St. Andrew’s School (Delaware), Westtown School, and Wyoming Seminary, as well as many local parochial and public high schools.

If you’re preparing to relocate or are new to Bethlehem, you’ll find plenty of family-friendly activities. Enjoy festivals and concerts held throughout the year at SteelStacks, a ten-acre venue. Step back in history in the Moravian district, which includes houses dating back to the 1740s when Bethlehem was founded. The Pennsylvania youth theater and youth ballet located in Bethlehem offer opportunities for children to get involved with the performing arts. And each Christmas, the town remembers its founding on Christmas Eve in 1741 with a number of celebrations, Christmas marts, and Christmas tours.
