Flag Football

Love to play football? Have a desire to learn the game? Join Coaches Flores and Ciamacco for
eight tremendous sessions of fun and instruction at the youth level. Basic skills and positions will be taught including but not limited to: throwing, catching, route running, defending, and more! We’ll also have some fun scrimmaging! Camp tuition will cover the cost of your jersey and the flags. Campers will need to bring cleats (no metal please), a mouth guard and a desire to have fun. This camp will meet 6:00 to 7:30 on Monday and Wednesday evenings for four weeks beginning on June 18 (except for Wednesday, July 4).

Camp Sunshine with Veronica Bocian

Join Miss Bocian (Swain’s drama teacher) for a week filled with adventures including but not limited to: yoga, painting, ukulele, community service, and many outdoor activities! Each day will bring new projects and this camp will carry a service to others while making its name Camp Sunshine the theme of our week!

Digital Photography with Adrian Sauers

Afternoon (12:30-3:30 p.m.)
Rising 5th-8th grade

Join Mr. Sauers, Swain’s yearbook editor, Engineering and Design teacher, and professional photographer! Using digital cameras and electronic devices, campers will explore different settings, lightings, and subjects to make unique artwork. After capturing their photos, campers will use cutting edge editing software to adjust and perfect their creations. Campers will be required to provide their own device: digital camera, smartphone, or tablet with camera.

Young Adventurers with Kristin Blenis and Heather Manning

Five days! Five different adventures! Each morning campers will take on a unique adventure focusing on one of these specific themes: science, art, sports, water, fairytales, and cooking. Enjoy summer fun through stories, hands on projects, and more!

Makerspace: Woodworking 1 with Adrian Sauers
July 9 – 13
Morning (9 a.m.-noon)

Do you enjoy building and creating with wood? Join Swain's Engineering and Design teacher Adrian Sauers in our safe Makerspace woodshop, where you will learn to use a variety of woodworking tools! You'll be given the opportunity to create your own hands-on projects from the early design phase all the way through to the finished product.

Makerspace: Woodworking 2 with Adrian Sauers
July 9-13
Afternoon (12:30-3:30 p.m.)
Rising 4th-9th grade

Working with Mr. Sauers, Swain's Engineering and Design teacher, campers will be given the chance to use hand tools, age-appropriate power tools, and wood to build their very own creations. They will enjoy building hands-on projects within the safe Makerspace woodshop. Campers will gain an appreciation for the craft of carpentry as they are introduced to the exciting craft of woodworking!

Twist and Bounce
July 9-13
Afternoon (12:30-3:30 p.m.)
Rising Kindergarten-4th grade

Spend a week with Casey Reeman, Swain's choreographer, as she instructs campers on a combination of yoga, meditation, and dance movements! There will be opportunities to explore dance outside, as well as partner-centered pieces, where campers create their own additions. The camp will culminate with a performance on the final day.

Crafts and Creations with Sarah Kleppinger
July 16-20
Morning (9 a.m.-noon)
Rising 2nd-5th grade

Come join crafty Miss K in making a bunch of creative art projects out of interesting materials! We will be using some everyday, and some not so everyday, craft supplies to construct our own sculptures, puppets, mosaics, birdhouses, and much more! Campers will only need a smock and great creative ideas!

Outdoor Adventure Camp with Jen Mitchell and Jeff Haviland

Like kayaking, hiking and going on outdoor adventures? Spend a week with Swain Science teacher Jen Mitchell and our experienced outdoor adventurer Jeff Haviland as they take day trips to explore rivers, lakes, woodlands, and mountains seeking fun in nature! Transportation from Swain as well as kayak rentals and fees are covered in the camp tuition. You do not want to miss out on this opportunity.

Summer Dance Movement
July 16-20
Full day (9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.)

Campers will join Casey Reeman, The Swain School's choreographer, for a week learning how to express their personal twist on dance movement. Campers will be given the foundation of stretching, breathing, and technique through yoga and dance. Several dance styles and choreography will be used to help each participant find their own voice through movement.

Drawing and Painting with Angie Lande
July 30 – August 3
Morning (9 a.m.-noon)
Rising 2nd-5th grade
$180

Join Swain art instructor (and professional artist) Angie Lande for a fun-filled week of mixed media art experiences. Campers will experiment with charcoal, pastel, watercolor, ink, and acrylic paints. Projects will include, but are not limited to, animal drawings, landscapes, and portraits.

Math Magic with Sarah Kleppinger
July 30 - August 3
Afternoon (12:30-3:30 p.m.)
Rising 2nd-5th grade

Come join Miss K in exploring math tricks with a magical flare! We will be investigating specific math concepts while playing games and having fun. We will also realize why some math problems always lead to the same answers, how math plays a role in everyday situations, and why numbers are universal. Discover how math is all around us and how it can be a magical experience!

Swain Camp Broadway with Veronica Bocian
July 30 – August 10 (two weeks)

Swain Camp Broadway is an amazing, two-week experience featuring song, dance, and theatrical performance. Campers will join Veronica Bocian, The Swain School's drama director, as they work together to perform Once on This Island. Campers will be transported to NYC to watch a Broadway performance (included in the price of camp) during their first week. The camp will peak on the evening of Friday,
August 10, when campers will perform their own version of the show! You do not want to miss this unique experience!
